Hyderabad to Get 24 New Link Roads in Rs 4.87 Bn Project

The Hyderabad Road Development Corporation Limited (HRDCL) has commenced work on the first phase of its ambitious link road construction project across the city. With an estimated budget of Rs 4.87 billion, this phase includes 24 key link roads aimed at decongesting traffic and improving connectivity.

Among the planned projects, HRDCL is constructing a crucial link road from Raj Bhavan Road to the R&B Guest House near Begumpet Railway Station, as well as another connecting Begumpet Railway Station, Prakashnagar, and the Brahmanwadi railway track.

Residents in high-density areas like Prakashnagar, Brahmanwadi, Kundan Bagh, and Mayur Marg frequently face traffic bottlenecks. Commuters hope that these new roads will ease congestion, particularly during peak hours. To ensure durability, HRDCL is incorporating advanced construction techniques such as Full Depth Reclamation (FDR) and soil stabilisation. Contractors have been allotted two years to complete the projects under the agreement.

Key link road projects in Phase 1 include routes connecting Vanasthalipuram to Old Hayathnagar, Ameenpur village to HMT Colony in Miyapur, ORR service road to Chevella road via Kismatpur, and Badangpet Main Road to Turkayamjal via Nadergul, among others.

Phase 2 will introduce additional link roads, such as those connecting Mallapur Crossroad to Kurmlaguda, Dammaiguda to Nagaram via ECIL, NH-44 to the industrial area at Ram Reddy Nagar via Foxsagar Lake in Jeedimetla, and a road linking Neopolis Layout at Kokapet to Pipeline Road.

HRDCL鈥檚 large-scale initiative aims to transform Hyderabad鈥檚 road network, enhance connectivity, and provide long-term traffic solutions for commuters across the city.
