Jewar Airport Road link set for March 2024 completion

The construction of a 750-meter road linking the Yamuna Expressway to the Noida International Airport in Jewar is expected to be completed by March 2024. The National Highways Authority of India is overseeing the construction of this road, which will serve as the primary route to the airport for commuters traveling from Noida and Delhi.
This road is part of a larger 31 km expressway project connecting the Yamuna Expressway to the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway in Ballabhgarh. Of this stretch, 23.5 km is located in Haryana, while the remaining 7.5 km is in Uttar Pradesh. The report states that half of the 7.5 km road in UP has already been completed, and the rest is expected to be finished by March. An interchange on the Yamuna Expressway will connect this 31 km expressway originating from Ballabhgarh.
Additionally, there are plans to construct a 10 km road to facilitate the transportation of goods to the cargo terminal of the Noida airport. However, some land acquisition is still pending for this project. To boost industrial activity in Uttar Pradesh, investors establishing industrial units in Greater Noida will have the opportunity to utilise additional land for commercial purposes through a special scheme. Under this scheme, recipients of industrial plots can operate two commercial facilities alongside their core industrial operations on these plots.
Notably, the strategic location of these industrial units near Jewar Airport, International Film City, Yamuna Expressway, and Buddha Circuit offers various facilities and excellent connectivity. Additionally, the region will feature India's first world-class Pod Transit System, making it an attractive proposition for industrial ventures.
In another development, the International Air Transport Association (IATA), a global airlines' body, has assigned the three-letter code DXN to the upcoming international airport in Jewar, Greater Noida. IATA assigns these codes to airports worldwide for easy identification, and this designation signifies a significant step forward for the Jewar airport project.
