Keoshu introduces new approach road in Kohima

S Keoshu Yimkhiung, advisor for youth resources & sports, opened the new approach road to the Assam Rifles Camp at Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima. According to a DIPR report, the Department of Youth Resources & Sports (YR&S) conducted a familiarisation session with the new Advisor of the Department, S Keoshu Yimkhiung, following the opening of the new approach road.
In his remarks of welcome, Commissioner & Secretary, YR&S, Wezope Kenye, IAS, expressed the expectation that the Department would continue to engage in numerous new, creative endeavours and fill in its gaps under the direction of the new advisor.
Advisor Keoshu reminded the audience that the State Government's goal is to lead Nagaland to a "state of excellence," and that in order to do so, government workers must take their jobs seriously and assist their respective agencies and the State in moving forward.
He emphasised that the YR&S has a significant part to play in 'youth empowerment,' which can only be fulfilled if all officials perform their duties with complete dedication and sincerity.
Highlighting the department's primary functions and activities, Director, YR&S, Akumla Chuba stated that talent hunts in various sports disciplines are conducted across the districts, as well as free coaching camps in various disciplines and refresher courses for DSOs/Coaches. She stated that the Department is currently providing grant-in-aid to 22 associations based on their achievement. The state has two sports academies, one at the Indira Gandhi Stadium in Kohima and one at the Dimapur Sports Hostel.
The department groups - National Cadet Corps, Bharat Scouts & Guides, National Social Service, Task Force for Music & Arts, and Engineering Wing - presented a variety of departmental activities.
