Kurukshetra to Reduce Traffic Congestion with Elevated Roads

Haryana Chief Secretary Vivek Joshi reviewed the ongoing railway and metro projects related to orbital corridors. During the review, he highlighted the progress of the Haryana Orbital Rail Corridor (HORC) project, noting that the light engine rollout for the Patli-Manesar-MSIL connectivity line (8.7 km) was completed in September 2024. Furthermore, the construction of the Patli-New Patli-Sultanpur (7.9 km) connectivity line, the Dhulavat-Barsa section (29.5 km), and a double tunnel (4.7 km) between Sohna and Dhulavat were also finished.

Joshi mentioned that the Haryana Rail Infrastructure Development Corporation (HRIDC) is constructing a 5.875-km elevated railway track in Kurukshetra city to reduce congestion by eliminating five level crossings. This project aims to ensure uninterrupted rail operations on the Kurukshetra-Narwana line and is nearing completion.

He emphasized that these projects are a testament to the HRIDC's commitment to sustainable and inclusive rail infrastructure, which drives regional development and improves connectivity across Haryana. Joshi commended the HRIDC's significant achievements and ongoing efforts to strengthen rail connectivity and support economic development in the state.

Reflecting on the progress, Joshi noted the remarkable work done by HRIDC in enhancing Haryana's rail infrastructure. He shared that he had attended this event in Gurugram the previous year and was pleased to participate again. He congratulated the HRIDC management and staff for their excellent work, extending his wishes for the Annual Day and the New Year. Additionally, he toured the exhibition gallery that showcased the HRIDC鈥檚 projects and achievements.

Joshi made these remarks while chairing the HRIDC Annual Day meeting, where he also serves as Chairman. Additional Chief Secretary of Public Works (B&R) and Architecture, Anurag Agarwal, mentioned that Haryana was the only northern state with a joint venture corporation with Indian Railways to enhance rail infrastructure. He emphasized that Haryana鈥檚 development is closely tied to the progress of its railways, and HRIDC plays a key role in achieving this goal.
