Minister approves funds for Bypass Highway upgrades, Relief Measures

Bringing significant relief to the countless commuters who traverse the bypass highway daily, Nitin Gadkari, the union minister, has given the green light to allocate a substantial sum of Rs 360 million. This funding will facilitate the creation of a service road spanning from Wadgaon to Warje along the bypass highway. The decision came in response to the appeals put forth by MLA Bhimrao Tapkir during a public event held at Chandani Chowk within the Khadakwasla constituency.

Expressing his concerns, Tapkir stated, "It is imperative to address the issues of traffic congestion and accidents occurring at the Jambhulwadi Daripul tunnel on the Mumbai-Bangalore highway. To tackle this, a proposition has been tabled to construct an elevated roadway stretching from the Swaminarayan Temple to Narhe Bhumkar Bridge Chowk. We have formally requested Union Minister Gadkari to endorse this proposal and allocate the necessary financial resources."

"In the regions of Wadgaon Budruk and Narhe, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) needs to develop an additional 12-meter-wide thoroughfare on both sides. This necessitates issuing a directive to the PMC administration. Furthermore, to mitigate the gradient challenges on the highway, an underpass near Narhe Chowk should be erected. Enhancing the existing passage at Bhumkar Chowk, this is a currently narrow, call for the construction of a broader adjacent underpass. Similarly, the confined subway between Wadgaon Navale Bridge and Katraj, close to Ambegaon Shiv Srushti, should be supplemented by the construction of a wider parallel subway," detailed Tapkir.
