The road transport ministry have formulated a policy for the implementation of a smooth transition in lane arrangement with proper signs and warnings to reduce accidents before opening newly built national highway portions. At the final PM GatiShakti National Master Plan review meeting, the road transport ministry was given some instructions for compliance. The ministry has also been instructed to determine the policies and methods needed by the federal and state governments to hasten the electrification of all public transportation vehicles and advance the nation's effort to decarbonise transportation. The ministries of heavy industries and road transportation will work together to develop project ideas and action plans for electrifying all public transportation vehicles. According to the conference minutes, infrastructure in risky and accident-prone areas must be constructed with enough structures, such as car underpasses or flyovers. The ministry of roads and road transportation is required to release a policy. At each level of project implementation, beginning with project planning, designing, implementation, and operation, road safety audits must be done, the law stated. Additionally, the ministry has been instructed to determine the viability of awarding key infrastructure gap projects, such as road connectivity for designated non-major ports, as soon as possible.
