NHAI invites DPR bids for Vizag flyovers

In order to provide a feasibility/detailed project report for the construction of grade separated structures (flyovers) at various major junctions of the national highway travelling through Vizag city, the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has issued a call for bids.

The winning bidder will carry out a study to determine the project's technical, economic, and financial viability and create comprehensive project reports for the suggested flyovers. Along the 58 km length from Anakapalli to Anandapuram, up to 12 flyovers have been suggested in various locations.

The city is covered by the national Chennai-Kolkata highway, with the core city limits containing a 40 km network of this route from Kurmannapalem to Kommadi. Several important junctions, including the major crossroads of national highway and the city's arterial roads, have been experiencing traffic congestion, especially during the peak hours, as a result of the city's horizontal growth over the years and the ensuing increase in vehicles.
