The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) will build the transport corridor of the Northern Ring Road project which will be jointly built with the state government. As per the reviews, out of 360-metre wide Ring Road, the NHAI will build a 70- metre transport corridor, while the Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) will build 135-metre development corridor on either side of the Ring Road. A senior JDA official told the media that the NHAI would bear the acquisition and construction expense of the land for building the transport corridor. The chief secretary said that the project cost of 45 km from Bagrana to Achrol has pegged at Rs 2,887 crore. The Ring Road project will include a six-lane access-controlled expressway and a three-lane service road on both sides. The northern corridor will also be developed on the lines of the 47 km southern corridor to Ajmer Road, and the agencies will acquire a 360-metre wide strip of land. While the transport corridor will be built on a 70- metre of land, the civic body offers a 135-metre wide development corridor along the transport corridor for commercial purposes. Earlier, the state had written to the Union minister of road transport and highways to jointly build the project proposed to link Delhi and Agra national highways to share the cost. An official source said that when the project was conceived, the state government decided to give it to NHAI. Later, there was a change in the plan, and the state decided to construct it on its own. However, after calculating the expense exercise began again to bring NHAI to share the project with JDA. The JDA has kept the northern corridor 360-metre wide, the same as the southern corridor in the master plan 2025. To acquire for Ring Road, the agencies have identified land in 26 villages of three tehsils Amber, Jaipur, and Jamwa-Ramgarh.
