NHAI withdraws Rs 2,161 crore order awarded to Ashoka Buildcon

According to Ashoka Buildcon, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has withdrawn the letter of award for a project in Danapur, Bihar. The total contract value was Rs 2,161 crore.

The NHAI had barred the company, so the contract was not signed and the letter of award was withdrawn, according to Ashoka Buildcon's regulatory filing to the exchanges.

The NHAI awarded Ashoka Buildcon the project of constructing a four-lane elevated corridor and at-grade improvements of the Danapur-Bihta section, at-grade improvements to the four-lane section on the Danapur side, and upgradation of the existing two-lane carriageway to four-lane carriageway of the Bihta-Koilwar section in Bihar on January 25, 2023.

According to the proposal request, the NHAI cancelled the bidding process and invited a new bid for the project.

According to Ashoka Buildcon, the debarment will expire on April 15, 2023, and the company will be eligible to participate in all bids called by various authorities, including the NHAI.
