The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is enlisting the expertise of the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Trichy to evaluate the detailed project report (DPR) for the realigned stage I segment of the semi-ring road. NHAI's strategic partnership with NIT Trichy aims to enhance the quality of the project and incorporate facilities on the route.NHAI has achieved significant progress in land acquisition, with 90 per cent completion for the link road connecting Trichy-Madurai National Highway to Trichy-Karur National Highway through Trichy-Dindigul National Highway. This development is crucial for alleviating traffic congestion in Trichy city.The involvement of NIT Trichy signifies a decisive step in addressing the prolonged delay in the realignment of the semi-ring road, which spans approximately 20-21 km and avoids disruption to water bodies.An NHAI official stated, Upon verification of the DPR by NIT-Trichy, we will forward it to our headquarters for further steps, including tendering to identify a suitable contractor for executing the realigned semi-ring road project. Stage I of the semi-ring road will create a link between Panjapur on Trichy-Madurai NH and Jeeyapuram on Trichy-Karur NH via Thayanur on Trichy-Dindigul NH.This collaborative effort reflects NHAI's commitment to the project's quality and successful execution, harnessing NIT Trichy's expertise to ensure efficient and sustainable infrastructure development.
