Nitish Kumar Inaugurates ?88.38 Billion Rural Road Projects

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar inaugurated and laid foundation stones for 6,199 rural road and bridge projects worth ?88.38 billion ($1.06 billion) under the state鈥檚 Rural Works Department (RWD). The virtual event, held at the CM's residence, emphasized improving rural connectivity across the state.

Key projects inaugurated include:

763 roads (947 km) and four bridges (435 meters) built at ?9.83 billion ($118 million) under the Chief Minister Gram Sampark Yojana. 972 roads (1,904 km) repaired at ?11.13 billion ($134 million) under the Chief Minister Rural Road Maintenance Programme. 33 roads (104 km) upgraded for ?920 million ($11 million) under the Chief Minister Rural Road Development Scheme. The foundation stones were laid for:

1,472 roads (1,571 km) and five bridges (304 meters) to be constructed at ?18.24 billion ($219 million). 2,306 roads (4,148 km) to undergo repairs at ?23.5 billion ($283 million) under the Chief Minister Rural Road Maintenance Programme. 442 roads (1,701 km) and one bridge (27 meters) to be upgraded for ?17.39 billion ($209 million) under the Mukhyamantri Gramin Sadak Unnayan Yojana. The CM stressed the importance of quality work and regular maintenance. 鈥淭here should not be any compromise on the quality of materials and work. Maintenance must be given top priority,鈥� he said, urging officials to ensure timely completion of all projects.

RWD Minister Ashok Choudhary, Chief Secretary Amrit Lal Meena, and other senior officials attended the event, underscoring the state鈥檚 commitment to strengthening rural infrastructure.
