Odisha Announces 2,600 km Grand Ring Road to Boost State Connectivity

Odisha鈥檚 Works Minister, Prithiviraj Harichandan, has announced the launch of a groundbreaking 2,600 km-long Grand Ring Road project to improve statewide connectivity.

This ambitious project, valued at Rs 91,000 crore, aims to link key districts and enhance travel efficiency. During an event in Cuttack, Minister Harichandan described the Grand Ring Road as a transformative initiative. "This road will drastically reduce travel times and facilitate uninterrupted journeys along the entire route," he stated. The road will connect Motu in Malkangiri to Tiring in Mayurbhanj, creating essential links across Odisha.

A specialized ring road will be built around the mineral-rich areas of Keonjhar and Barbil, with a separate investment of Rs 2,200 crore. The plan also includes constructing ring roads around major urban centres like Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, and Puri, aimed at alleviating congestion.

Expected to be completed within the next three years, the project will support economic growth and improve the quality of life for Odisha's citizens. "This initiative reflects our commitment to enhancing infrastructure and driving economic progress," Harichandan added.
