Piaggio Vehicles sets up EV experience centre in Bengaluru

Piaggio Vehicles Private Limited (PVPL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Italian Piaggio Group, has launched an EV experience centre in Bengaluru.

Customers will be able to access Piaggio's newly launched FX range or fixed battery of electric vehicles in both the cargo and passenger segments through the experience centre. According to a company statement, the Bengaluru centre will also service the entire range of electric vehicles.

B Sriramlu, Minister of Transport Department and Tribal Welfare, Karnataka, told the media that Karnataka is also fully committed to switching to green mobility, as evidenced by the center's PLI scheme to boost the electric vehicle segment, and we thank Piaggio for taking a step forward in achieving this goal. The state of Karnataka is also planning to establish a high-tech Karnataka Electric Mobility Research and Innovation Centre to promote e-mobility.

The EV support infrastructure is expanding, and they plan to install 500 charging stations in Karnataka by the end of the year. Under the government's FAME II scheme, the state has registered 25,725 EV beneficiaries, making it one of the leading states in India to do so, boosting the EV production market.

The new Ape' E-Xtra FX is a 9.5 KW electric cargo vehicle in the segment. It has a full metal body architecture with a cargo deck length of 6 ft. It can also be customised for applications such as delivery vans, garbage collectors, and so on, according to the company.
