Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari said New India of the 21st Century focuses on building the best infrastructure facilities around the world. In a series of tweets he stated that keeping it in mind, the Six laning projects for Bengaluru Nidaghatta Section, NH-275 is going ahead with lots of promises. Gadkari said that the Bangalore to Nidaghatta section forms the part of NH-275 starting from the junction Near Panchamukhi Temple junction located in the southern zone Bangalore ends before Nidagatta. He added this road is a critical stretch to tourism and the economy since it passes via the towns of Bidadi, Ramanagara, and Channapatana, which have the largest market for silk cocoons in Asia while providing an access to India's only vulture sanctuary and would be linking Srirangapatna, Kerala, Mysore, Ooty, and Coorg. The Minister stated that once the project is executed, the current travel time of 3 hours would be reduced to 90 minutes which will bring down fuel consumption and carbon footprint. He mentioned that special care is taken on the project along with road safety enhancements such as the elimination of at-grade junctions with Vehicular Underpasses/ Overpasses for nullifying the accidents/conflicts. He informed that the 6 bypasses in this stretch will reduce the traffic congestion and ensure the health, road, and environmental safety of towns including Bidadi, Channarayapatna, and Ramnagara.
