Punjab's Hoshiarpur to witness two road projects

Harbhajan Singh, Minister, Punjab Public Works Department, announced that the Mahilpur-Jaijon and the Mahilpur-Phagwara road projects would be undertaken, with an estimated cost of about Rs 250 million.

The minister mentioned that the Mahilpur-Jaijon road would connect Punjab with Himachal Pradesh. He further stated that the condition of this important route was not in good shape, as its last repair had been carried out in May 2015.

Singh informed that the work for strengthening this 15.12 km road would be completed soon. He added that the agency hired for this project would also take care of its maintenance for the next five years.

Regarding the road connecting Mahilpur with Phagwara, the PWD minister said it was last repaired in May 2015. He assured that the construction work of this 14.34 km road would also be completed on time.

Additionally, he made an announcement about the widening of roads from Garhshankar to Nangal and Garhshankar to Nawanshahr.
