Minister for Public Works Department (PWD) P A Mohamed Riyas told the media that PWD will implement a project management system from 2022, which will enable the MLAs and citizens to track road projects at every stage. He said that the time would be fixed for every stage of road projects to fix responsibility for delays. The system's dashboard will provide the details of the ongoing road projects to the MLAs and the public. The contractors can also raise issues through the system. The details of the road projects within the system can be updated by the PWD head, District Collector, state nodal officer and other officials. PWD Minister said that the recently launched PWD 4U mobile application had received 15,000 complaints from the public. After launching the online booking at PWD rest houses, it has received 991 bookings across the state at Rs 5.76 lakh in the last nine days, from which 794 bookings were made online. He added that a working calendar would be issued to reduce delays in any works. In discussion with the CM of Kerala, leader of the opposition and leaders of other parties over its implementation, it was expected to complete soon. Many initiatives have been taken like tendering, revised estimates and bill preparation were integrated into the Project Information and Cost Estimation (PRICE) software to avoid delays.
