Shilpa Layout Flyover Phase Two to Complete by May-End: GHMC Chief

Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) commissioner RV Karnan confirmed that the second phase of the Shilpa Layout flyover connecting Gachibowli and Kondapur is expected to be completed by the end of May. The update follows his on-site inspection conducted on May 3, accompanied by Serilingampalli zonal commissioner Borkade Hemanth Sahadev Rao.

The three-lane bi-directional flyover, part of the Hyderabad City (H-City) project, aims to alleviate traffic congestion, especially near Khajaguda Junction. During the visit, officials briefed the commissioner on ongoing blacktopping and LED light installation works. Completion of the service road is pending the acquisition of five remaining land parcels, which engineers estimate could take up to fifteen days.

Project engineers indicated that the new infrastructure would improve commute efficiency between the outer-ring road (ORR), Kondapur, Hyderabad airport and Hi-Tech City.

Commissioner Karnan also addressed concerns raised by local residents at Malkam Cheruvu regarding sanitation and stray dog nuisance. He instructed officials to implement corrective measures, particularly to prevent stormwater drains from contaminating the lake area.
