UMC plans to construct 100% cement-concrete roads in Thane

The Mumbai Metropolitan Road Development Authority (MMRDA) has issued tenders for work on six major routes in the Ulhasnagar Municipal Corporation (UMC) jurisdiction, with a fund of Rs 1.5 billion.

The UMC administration is in full preparation mode to make all of Ulhasnagar's roads cement-concrete. At the moment, more than 60% of the city's roads are made of cement-concrete.

According to Ashok Naikwade, UMC Deputy Commissioner, "The Suvarna Jayanti Urban Development Scheme provided Rs 2.43 billion to the UMC. If the project is approved, Ulhasnagar's roads will be in good condition."

The civic chief stated that the civic body is attempting to complete the city development work on time, with the majority of the work being completed before the new year.
