UP acquires 95% of land needed for Ganga Expressway

The Uttar Pradesh government has acquired about 95% of the land required for 595 km Ganga Expressway project. In addition, 77% of the land clearing and grubbing and more than 52% of the utility relocation have been completed. The project has also acquired environmental and forest clearances.

For quicker completion of the civil works, the access-controlled, six-lane (extendable to eight-lane) greenfield Ganga Expressway project has been divided into four groups with three packages each, totalling to 12 packages. Separate engineers were hired for each of the four expressway groups.

The expressway is expected to be commissioned in the next 36 months, by November 2025.
