The 77th board meeting of the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) was held, where several important decisions were made to benefit the allotees and gain in-principle approval for various infrastructure projects.
It was announced that the registry of stalled projects would be opened for home-buyers after issuing part-completion certificates for the builder's group housing projects. Arun Vir Singh, the CEO of YEIDA, stated that their goal is to complete the registry process for 3,876 units by May 31, 2024. Allottees can now directly pay their lease rent and compensation to the authority to proceed with the registry. So far, 1,280 units have been registered, including units from ATS builder projects.
In order to facilitate the allotees, the YEIDA board has extended the deadline to apply for lease deeds without incurring any penalties. Shailendra Bhatia, the OSD of YEIDA, explained that the meeting discussed a total of 43 agendas focused on benefiting the allotees. The last date for applying for lease deeds without penalty has been extended to September 30 for completed projects, and for under-construction projects, the deadline is now March 31, 2024. This decision will benefit approximately 35,000 allotees.
In addition to these decisions, the board approved the acquisition of 3,240 acres of land in Sector 9, Sector 11, and Tappal Bajna, as well as the construction of two expressways and a railway track.
According to officials, YEIDA plans to acquire 820 acre in Sector 9, 800 acres in Sector 11, and 1,620 acre in Tappal Bajna. The land in Sector 9 and Sector 11 will be developed as an educational centre, with a focus on universities, while the remaining land will be utilized for industrial development. In Tappal Bajna, near the Noida International Airport, YEIDA aims to establish country-specific industrial and manufacturing towns, specifically targeting Japanese or Korean investors.
To enhance connectivity in the region, YEIDA will construct two expressways spanning approximately 18-20 kilometres between Noida International Airport and Chola railway station on the Delhi-Howrah line. This is a change from the previous plan of constructing only one expressway. Additionally, a 16-kilometer railway track will be integrated into the project, connecting the two destinations. This railway track will also intersect with the route of the Orbital train route from Palwal to Khurja.
