300 Km Viaduct Complete on Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train

Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Tuesday shared a major progress update on India鈥檚 ambitious Mumbai鈥揂hmedabad Bullet Train project. Posting a video on his official X handle, the Railway Minister announced that 300 kilometres of viaduct construction have been completed.

The National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL), which is overseeing the project, also reported that approximately 76 per cent of excavation work for the Mumbai bullet train station at Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) has been completed. Notably, it will be the only underground station on the high-speed corridor.

Three batching plants with a capacity of 120 cubic metres per hour are currently operational at the site. The station features a modern concrete testing laboratory, equipped for water permeability and rapid chloride penetration testing.

Each base slab is being cast using M-60 grade temperature-controlled concrete, produced on-site using dedicated batching and chiller plants. The underground station will be about 26 metres deep, featuring three levels鈥攑latform, concourse, and service floors.

It will include six platforms, each approximately 415 metres long, designed to accommodate the high-speed trains. This update follows a similar announcement shared by the Minister earlier on 12 May.
