Centre sanctions fund for Kotipalli-Narsapuram railway line

The Central Government has reportedly approved an amount of Rs 2 billion for the railway line between Kotipalli and Narsapuram. Besides, in the last four years, nearly Rs 10.30 billion was reportedly sanctioned to the railway line in Andhra Pradesh.

Three bridges are expected to be constructed for the railway line between Kotipalli and Mukteswaram. Also, two bridges will be reportedly constructed at Bodasakurru and Narasapur.

Around Rs 6.70 billion is required for the construction of the bridges. The construction works of the bridge between Bodasakurru and Narsapur has reportedly started and the construction work of Kotipalli-Mukteswaram bridge is under progress.

The 57-km project is expected to connect Amalapuram, Peruru, Pasarlapudi, Jaggannapeta and Razole and is planned in three phases, Narsapur-Chinchinada, Kotipalli-Amalapuram and Amalapuram-Chinchinada. The line will be an alternative route connecting the Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada main line with the Konaseema region. The project is estimated to be completed by 2021.

The Kotipalli–Narsapur project covers Konaseema region of Andhra Pradesh as an alternative route connecting Visakhapatnam and , a branch line from Vijayawada-Bhimavaram-Nidadavole exists at present joining the main line from Chennai to Kolkata at Nidadavole. The line from extends up to Narasapur.

Also, tenders were invited for the construction of railway station and are expected to be finalised soon. Meanwhile, land acquisition is under process. The total land required is 908 acre, of which 276 acre of land has been reportedly handed in east Godavari. As of the remaining land, it is under progress.
