The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has said that Phase one of the Metro Line-9 route will be operational by the end of the year. Not only would this 10.58-kilometer line connect Mumbai to Mira-Bhayandar, but it would also alleviate congestion at the most important city entrance, Dahisar toll naka. From Dahisar (E) to Kashigaon and from there to Subhash Chandra Bose Stadium, the project will be completed in two stages. The line may also be extended by 1.5�2 kilometers to Uttan, where a different piece of land is being considered for a vehicle shed, according to sources. An official from the MMRDA stated, Even if we start the first phase of the route from Kashigaon, it will help scores of people as the line connects to Metro Line-7 at Dahisar (E). According to sources, they would initially require three to four rakes to open the first phase of the line. December 2025 is the deadline for the entire corridor. The Meditiya Nagar station's construction is now 64.63 percent complete, according to the MMRDA on Friday. There will be three levels at the station, which is one of the highest on the Metro-9: a platform on level three, a concourse on level 2, and a vehicular flyover on level 1. In total, the station will rise 35 meters above street level. There are currently eight stations, and 51 percent of their work has been completed. The most difficult part is integrating with Mumbai's various transportation systems. The MMR's finest example of an integrated transportation system will be the Metro Line-9. According to SVR Srinivas, metropolitan commissioner of MMRDA, the travel pattern will be much more robust, connected, and sustainable after the completion of the metro projects. The first interchange on this metro line will be at Dahisar (E), where it will connect Gundavali to Dahisar (E) on Metro-7 and Andheri (W) to Dahisar (E) on Metro-2A. The second interchange will be at Miragaon, where Metro Line-10 (Gaimukh to Shivaji Chowk) will connect to it. Depending on the state of the road, this could cut travel time by 50-75 per cent.
