CORE completes electrifying numerous segments and routes

The Central Organisation for Railway Electrification (CORE)-Prayagraj's Bengaluru Project Unit has just started the electrification work on a number of lines, moving toward the Government of India's ambitious objective of having 100% of broad gauge routes electrified by December 2023.

On November 29, the Arsikere-Birur (40 RKM) portion of the Mysuru Division and on November 30, the Chikkabanwara-Solur (33.5 RKM) and Nitur-Sampige Road (11 RKM or Route Kilometers) sections of the Bengaluru Division of the South Western Railway. Similar to this, the Pangri-Ausa Road (80 RKM) part of the Solapur Division of Central Railway was inaugurated on November 30 by the Secunderabad Project unit of CORE.

The Arsikere-Birur stretch of the Bengaluru鈥揌ubballi railway has been fully electrified, allowing electric trains to run smoothly from Bellary to Arsikere through Chikjajur. The Ministry of Railways intends to launch the Vande Bharat Express on this section of the Bangalore-Hubballi route during the current fiscal year. CORE's Bengaluru unit is working assiduously to finish electrifying this route's balance patches as soon as possible.

Similarly, the Miraj-Kurduwadi-Latur Road section's electrification project includes the Pangri-Ausa Road route (377 RKM).
