Delhi Metro awarded for best passenger services

According to the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Delhi Metro has won the 鈥楳etro Rail with the Best Passenger Services and Satisfaction鈥� award.

Delhi was awarded the best non-monetised transport system for the redevelopment of Shahjahanabad Redevelopment Corporation.

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) tweeted that the Delhi Metro was awarded the 'Award for Excellence in Urban Transport' by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs under the Metro Rail with the Best Passenger Services and Satisfaction award. Managing Director of DMRC, Mangu Singh, received the award from the Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs, Hardeep Singh Puri at the 14th Urban Mobility India Conference 2021.

Surat was awarded for the best public transport system, Indore with the award of 'City with the Most Innovative Financing Mechanism', Kochi received the award for the most sustainable transport system and Nashik with the award for 'City with the Best Record of Public Involvement in its Transport Planning.

These awards were given by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs at the Urban Mobility India (UMI) conference.

DMRC has initiated the e-rickshaw services, connecting Noida Electronic City metro station with its surroundings.

The corporation will start with 25 e-rickshaws in partnership with the Electric Mobility Solutions (ETO). DMRC said that women drivers would be appointed for running e-rickshaws.
