GatiShakti Panel Reviews Metro and Airport Projects

The 94th meeting of the Network Planning Group (NPG), under the PM GatiShakti National Master Plan, reviewed five infrastructure proposals on 28 May 2025 to strengthen multimodal connectivity and regional growth. The assessment included four Metro Rail projects by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs and one Greenfield Airport project by the Ministry of Civil Aviation.

The metro proposals include a 2.16-kilometre underground extension from Aerocity to Indira Gandhi Domestic Terminal-1, and a 9.91-kilometre underground Magenta Line extension from Ramakrishna Ashram Marg to Indraprastha. Another nine-kilometre elevated Golden Line extension is planned from Tughlakabad to Kalindi Kunj, enhancing interconnectivity between Delhi and Noida.

A separate 17.43-kilometre corridor from Noida Sector-51 to Knowledge Park V in Greater Noida aims to ease travel for residents in the expanding township.

The Greenfield Airport project in Bundi, Kota will span approximately 400 acres and cater to aircraft like the A321-200. With a terminal capacity of 500 arrivals and departures per peak hour, the facility is expected to support tourism, trade and students travelling to Kota’s educational hubs.
