Haryana CM lauds Railway Station Redevelopment Scheme

Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar conveyed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for the selection of 15 railway stations in Haryana for redevelopment under the 'Amrit Bharat Station Scheme'. Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for the redevelopment of 508 railway stations across the country via a video conference on the same day. These stations are situated in 27 states and union territories, with 22 of them located in Punjab.
As outlined in an official statement, the 15 railway stations in Haryana that will undergo redevelopment under this scheme include Ambala City, Bhiwani Junction, Faridabad, Pataudi Road, Hisar, Bahadurgarh, Jind Junction, Narwana Junction, Narnaul, Kalka, Rewari, Rohtak, Sirsa, Sonipat, and Yamunanagar-Jagadhri.
Speaking at an event organised at the Chandigarh railway station, Chief Minister Khattar highlighted the significant achievements in infrastructure, road, and railway systems over the past nine years. He pointed out that the completion of the Kundli-Ghaziabad-Palwal Expressway and Kundli-Manesar-Palwal Expressway has significantly alleviated traffic pressure on Delhi. Moreover, he noted that every district in Haryana now boasts connectivity to a national highway, thereby contributing to the state's economic growth.
Khattar informed that the Haryana Rail Infrastructure Development Authority has been established to fortify the railway system. A MoU has been inked with the Railway Ministry to establish a special purpose vehicle (SPV) as part of this endeavour. Rohtak has witnessed the construction of the nation's first five-kilometre elevated railway track, while a similar project in Kurukshetra nears completion, and a detailed project report for Kaithal has been prepared.
Approval has been granted for the Haryana Orbit Railway Corridor stretching from Palwal to Sonipat. The expansion of metro connectivity is also underway, as highlighted by Khattar.
