Hyderabad Airport Metro Rail extends the date for submission

The deadline for submitting bids to be appointed as a general consultant (GC) for the proposed
Hyderabad Airport Express Metro (HAEM) line from Raidurg to the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport
at Shamshabad has been extended by the Hyderabad Airport Metro Limited (HAML) from January 13
to January 20, 2023. A request for proposals and expressions of interest were previously issued by
HAML for the appointment of the GC.
From Mindspace to Raidurg, the projected Metro line will be an extension of Corridor-III. About 23
reputable national and international engineering consultancy firms who attended the pre-
application conference for pre-qualification for the GC last week requested an extension of the
deadline.
The GC will direct and support HAML in putting the Airport Metro project into action in accordance
with the highest safety requirements and international best practices. The project will be finished
during the three-year term of the general contractor. To collaborate with the HAML techno-
managerial team, technical specialists and field engineers with strong subject knowledge and
experience will be present in the GC.
The GC will support HAML in all technical and project management-related tasks, including the
review of the Detailed Project Report (DPR), evaluation of the tender documents, verification of the
designs and drawings provided by different contractors and suppliers, project planning, construction
management, quality assurance and control, safety management, acceptance standards, including
defect rectification, O&M plan, security audit, etc. However, all technical, financial and contract
management powers will be exercised by HAML.
TERM: 3 YEARS
The project will be finished in three years, which is also the general consultant's term. To collaborate
with the techno managerial team of HAML, technical specialists and field engineers with strong
subject knowledge and expertise will be in the GC.
