Jalandhar Cantt Railway Station to be Ready by Next Year

Union Minister of State for Railways, Ravneet Singh Bittu, visited Jalandhar Cantt railway station to review ongoing renovations and announced that the new, highly modernized station building will be ready for public use by the first quarter of next year.

The station's redevelopment, costing Rs 99 crore, will include enhanced facilities such as separate arrival and departure areas, escalators, improved natural lighting, and a green building with a gold rating. Additionally, automatic block signaling for the Ludhiana-Jalandhar section, costing Rs 71.25 crore, has been approved to improve operational efficiency.

Bittu also shared plans to install the KAVACH Train Collision Avoidance System over 1,513 kilometers to improve safety and prevent accidents. This upgrade is part of a broader initiative, which includes redeveloping 12 railway stations in Punjab at an investment of Rs 270 crore.
