Jharkhand receives Rs 52.71 bn from the budget to improve rail infra

Jharkhand has been given a staggering Rs 52.71 billion from the Union Budget to improve the state's railway infrastructure, according to Ashwini Vaishnaw, Railway Minister.

While addressing the media, the minister claimed that Jharkhand now receives an average yearly budget expenditure that is approximately 11 times greater than what it did between 2009 and 2014.

According to him, up to 57 stations in the state will be renovated and upgraded to world-class stations.

Amrit Bharat Station programme would be used to develop the other stations into model stations while Ranchi and Hatia will undergo a thorough makeover.

The Ranchi rail division will build up to 12 stations, including Lohardaga, Muri, Namkum, Ramgarh Cant, Tatisilwai, and Gangaghat.

A number of improvements, including the installation of lifts in some stations, would be undertaken as part of the Sugamya Bharat scheme for people with disabilities.
