Kochi Metro land acquisition to completed by August 31

According to a review of projects initiated by Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, the government will complete land acquisition for the Kakkanad extension of Kochi Metro by August 31.

The railway side of the metro project will be discussed soon with the chief general manager of the railways in Chennai. On 23rd July, a trial run of the water metro will take place, followed by an inauguration on 15th August.

The Ministry of Civil Aviation has received a sketch and location map of the Sabarimala airport, and clearance is expected soon. The chief minister also ordered that land acquisition for the Kochi urban development and water transportation project be accelerated.

Kitco will complete a detailed project report for the ring road in Thiruvananthapuram by October. The chief minister also ordered that Technopark be included in the light metro project and that a detailed project report be prepared in this regard.

Kannur will soon begin work on a road improvement project. The chief minister also instructed the relevant departments to complete the land acquisition and rehabilitation of the national waterway as soon as possible.
