DK Jain, President of the Grand Card Passenger Association, stated that the new train was the outcome of numerous public appeals. He mentioned that people in Gaya and surrounding districts had been requesting improved train services for a long time. Jain added that this new route would connect three mythological cities鈥擥aya, Varanasi, and Ayodhya鈥攁nd was expected to boost religious tourism significantly.
Schedule and Fare Information
The Namo Bharat Rapid Train is planned to operate six days a week, departing Gaya Junction at 5 am and arriving in Ayodhya by 11 am. The return journey will commence at 5 pm from Ayodhya, reaching Gaya by 11 pm. This timing is designed to facilitate convenient day trips between the two cities. The train will halt at several important junctions including Rafiganj, Sasaram, DD Upadhyay Junction, Kashi, Varanasi Junction, Jaunpur Junction, Shahganj, Akbarpur, and Gosaiganj.
The train will feature unreserved air-conditioned coaches, with tickets priced around Rs 500. This affordable fare is expected to make travel accessible to a broad range of passengers, including pilgrims and tourists.
