RailTel SecuresRs 470 Mn Order from North Western Railway

RailTel Corporation of India announced that it had received an order from the Deputy Chief Signal and Telecommunication Engineer (Construction) of the Ajmer Division, North Western Railway, for signalling work. The order, valued at Rs 460.79 million, is expected to be completed by 20 July 2026.

RailTel, categorised as a "mini ratna (category-I)" central public sector enterprise, is one of the country's largest neutral telecom infrastructure providers, operating a pan-India optic fibre network that spans numerous towns, cities, and rural areas.

The corporation reported a 6.58 per cent increase in standalone net profit to Rs 720.64 million in Q2 FY25, alongside a 40.78 per cent growth in revenue from operations, which reached Rs 8.43 billion compared to Q2 FY24.

However, RailTel's stock declined by 3.49 per cent, closing at Rs 401.35 on 21 January 2025.
