The land acquisition process for Corridor-4 of the Bengaluru Suburban Rail Project (BSRP) -- Kanaka Line: Heelalige to Rajanukunte -- has commenced, giving a much-needed push to the long-pending project. The construction is expected to be completed by the end of 2026.

Additionally, BSRP officials are awaiting BBMP鈥檚 approval to cut trees in designated protected forest areas. The BSRP spans a total of 149.34 km, with Corridor-4 covering 46.88 km. The project will feature 8.96 km of viaducts (arch bridges) and 37.92 km of grade separators. A total of 19 stations will be built along this corridor, including two elevated stations.鈥
The line will connect key locations, including: Rajanukunte, Muddanahalli, Yelahanka (Elevated Interchange), Jakkur, Hegde Nagar, Thanisandra, Hennur, Horamavu, Channasandra, Benniganahalli (Interchange), Kaggadasapura, Marathahalli (Elevated), Bellandur Road, carmelaram, Ambedkar Nagar, Huskur, Singena Agrahara, Bommasandra, and Heelalige.
Meanwhile, the tender process for the Soladevanahalli depot is in its final stage, with KPIC Projects Ltd securing the contract. This depot will serve the Mallige Corridor (24.86 km), connecting Baiyappanahalli and Chikkabanavara. Another depot near Devanahalli will be constructed for maintenance of 51 trains (306 coaches) across both corridor.
