UP CM To Review DMRC鈥檚 5-Km Corridor To Connect Noida

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) proposal to construct a 5-km elevated Metro corridor to improve connectivity between Noida International Airport Limited (NIAL) in Jewar, which is slated to open early next year, and Delhi鈥檚 Indira Gandhi International Airport will be submitted before Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for approval, Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) CEO Arun Vir Singh said. 鈥淭he CM will review the proposal. The project鈥檚 future depends on how we achieve the funding,鈥� he added. DMRC will construct a small corridor between Tughlakabad and Kalindi Kunj as part of the larger plan to connect Aerocity to Tughlakabad under a project worth Rs 9.50 billion within three years. 鈥淚t is also updated that Aerocity to Tughlakabad Metro corridor鈥� work is in advance stage of construction and its further extension up to Kalindi Kunj will provide Metro interchange facilities with Magenta Line, Blue Line, Aqua Line as well as with proposed new line between Botanical Garden and Noida鈥檚 Sector 142,鈥� read a letter dated December 13 from Singh to DMRC鈥檚 chief project manager, Shiv Om Dwivedi. 鈥淚nitially, DMRC had prepared a detailed project report to link NIAL with IGI via the expressway. However, this proposal was shelved after the UP government decided to look at the rapid rail option 鈥� a 72-km corridor connecting Ghaziabad, Greater Noida and Noida airport,鈥� Singh added.
