Visakhapatnam railway station to be revamped

According to Anup Kumar Satpaty, Division Railway Manager (DRM), two additional platforms have been proposed on the Gnanapuram side of Visakhapatnam Railway Station to accommodate more train services to meet the rising passenger demand. Soon, Visakhapatnam would become the new zonal headquarters and a significant intersection. DRM Satpaty said that in addition to the station's eight currently operating escalators, 36 two-way escalators would be added as part of the station's redevelopment at Visakhapatnam. The administration would oversee the one-way passenger flow.
On November 12, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the cornerstone for the renovation of the Visakhapatnam Station. Braithwate promised to finish the project in 36 months. He declared that the Gati Sakti team would keep an eye on the development projects' progress. At Duvvada, Vizianagaram, Chipurupalli, Bobbili, Parvathipuram, Naupada, Koraput, Rayagada, and Jagdalpur, two bay platforms shelters are currently being built, he continued. At several stations in the division, work is being done to raise or extend the platforms.
Construction projects for the stations at Simhachalam, Marripalem, Pendurthi in the city, Chipurupalli, Araku, Damanjodi, and Jagdalpur were provided by Adarsh Station. Out of 1100 coaches, 800, according to the DRM, were converted to LHB coaches.
鈥淪even more trains would get LHB coaches. To date, 17 pairs of trains of the division were converted into LHB rakes. Of 49 trains, 27 rakes are operated as LHB trains,鈥� he said.
