Zetwerk secures Rs 1.26 bn contract for MAHSR bullet train project

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has granted Zetwerk Manufacturing Businesses a contract for Rs 1.26 billion for Mumbai–Ahmedabad high-speed rail (MAHSR) project.

According to the media sources, Zetwerk would provide 10,000 mt of manufactured girders to strengthen the load-bearing capacity of the steel bridges being constructed for the project.

L&T is in charge of steel bridge manufacturing for the bullet train project, which would reduce travel time between two major cities in the Indian states of Maharashtra and Gujarat.

Zetwerk Manufacturing Businesses told the media that it received a Letter of Intent (LoI) for an order worth Rs 126.55 crore by L&T Ltd for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad (MAHSR) Bullet Train project.

According to the letter of intent (LOI), the MAHSR bullet train project is being carried out by the National High-Speed Rail Corporation Ltd (NHSRCL).

L&T IHI Infrastructure Systems Consortium would fabricate and transport 28 steel truss bridges for the 508 km project, which is being constructed with an investment of about Rs 1,000 billion.

The bullet train, including 12 stations, is estimated to be finished in 2023. With a top speed of 320 km/h, the bullet train can cover a distance of 508 km in two hours and seven minutes.

Vishal Chaudhary, co-founder of Zetwerk told the media that Zetwerk is pleased to associate with the Bullet Train Project and would try to meet its pledge on time.

Earlier this month, Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (UPMRCL) awarded L&T Construction's Railways business unit an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract.
