Paradip Port will develop to a 500 MMT capacity Mega Port by 2047, according to P L Haranadh, Chairman, Paradip Port Authority (PPA), who made the announcement.

Speaking at a PPA-organised event to celebrate Port Day on the occasion of Kartika Purnima, Haranadh stated that the port is on track to reach the milestone of 125 MMT Cargo Handling in the current fiscal year.

The Port will grow to be India's greatest capacity port within the next two years as approximately 100 MMT capacity projects are awarded.

By 2047, the port would grow to 500 MMT. As per Haranadh, the State and Central government apparatus will work much more efficiently with port connectivity projects including rail, road, waterways, conveyor, and pipeline under the PM Gati Shakti Masterplan.

By 2025, it will be a Smart Digital Port. The PPA Chairman stated that the advanced gate management system will be installed within a year and that, as part of the green port project, 1,07,000 trees have already been planted this year. He added that 1 million plantings will be completed nearby by 2025.
