In a landmark move to position India as a global manufacturing hub, the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has greenlit the creation of 12 industrial smart cities across 10 states with a massive investment of Rs.286.02 billion. These industrial corridors will strengthen India鈥檚 manufacturing ecosystem, accelerate economic growth and enhance global competitiveness. They will be located in Khurpia in Uttarakhand, Rajpura-Patiala in Punjab, Dighi in Maharashtra, Palakkad in Kerala, Agra and Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh, Gaya in Bihar, Zaheerabad in Telangana, Orvakal and Kopparthy in Andhra Pradesh and Jodhpur-Pali in Rajasthan.

These cities are part of the National Industrial Corridor Development Programme (NICDP).
