Jharkhand has secured the first rank for implementing Smart City Mission's schemes as per the recent ranking released by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA). This scheme is running in different 100 cities of the country's 36 states and Union Territories. The Urban and Housing Development Department told the media that Ranchi has climbed to 12th position. Under the Smart City Mission in the state capital, a new city is being built on 656 acre in the Dhruva region. The construction of world-class infrastructure for this city is getting done at a rapid speed. Development of roads, drinking water, energy, sewerage, cycleways, foot-traveller, and others are in the final stages. The process of e-auction of plots identified for development has also begun and in the first stage, many plots have also been sold.
