K-Rail has been appointed as Smart City's new PMC

The order authorising the selection of Kerala Rail Development Corporation Ltd. (K-Rail) as Smart City Thiruvananthapuram Ltd.'s (SCTL) project management consultant has been issued by the state government. KRDCL will oversee and keep an eye on SCTL's ongoing projects and take over the detailed project report for the remaining works.

The decision to replace the previous project management consultant (PMC) with a new one was made earlier by SCTL's board of directors. In order to accomplish this, SCTL's CEO was instructed to issue an RFP based on QCBS (quality-cum-cost-based selection). The single bid for appointment as PMC of SCTL that was received from KRDCL, which is comprised of 51 per cent of the Government of Kerala and 49% of the Union ministry of railways, was recommended by the SCTL board. The bid was for Rs15.38 crore.
