It was decided in a meeting, chaired by Durga Shankar Mishra, chief secretary. Other officials also attended the meeting, including the municipal commissioner and senior officials from the department of tourism, culture, irrigation, archaeology, housing development authority, Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) and Lucknow Development Authority. Mishra inspected the Chhatar Manzil complex, Gulistan-e-Kothi and Darshan Vilas under the Kaiserbagh Heritage Zone.

Further, he also inspected the sites of Gomati Shaurya Memorial, which has the remains of the retired warship INS Gomati, which will be put on display by the Indian Navy.

Principal secretary of tourism and culture, Mukesh Meshram, told the media that the heritage sites would undergo an assessment by the conservation architecture experts to get a detailed analysis of the strength and life of the structure before its renovation.

He said that the monument can be used like the Minto Hall in Bhopal, which has now a convention centre.

He said that there are various monuments worldwide that have been reused, in some manner. The department might also display naval equipment in the exteriors of the monuments while the interiors will work as museums.
