Telangana鈥檚 Karimnagar to become smart city soon

With the ongoing smart city works, Karimnagar city in Telangana is on track to become a full-fledged smart city soon.
As part of the smart city project, the Karimnagar Municipal Corporation (KMC) has presented the DDPR to the central and state governments, along with development proposals worth Rs 1,800 crore.
Proposals for Rs 241 crore were submitted and sent to the government of Rs 228 crore works that were sanctioned in the first instalment. The state's share was also released for Rs 196 crore. The project will be finished in three stages. The modernisation of the tower circles will include multi-level parking.
For Rs 7 crore, the work of converting the Multi-purpose High School into a heritage centre and modernising the circus ground has been completed. A total of 11 road projects are nearing completion.
The Telangana state government and the Ministry of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation have set aside Rs 7.20 crore for the construction of a park on the grounds of the Multi-purpose School, where Minister Gangula Kamalakar and Mayor Sunil Rao laid the foundation stone for a bronze statue of PV Narasimha Rao.
From Collectorate Chowrasta to Bhagatnagar Chowrasta, from LSIC office to Collectorate Road via Station, from Ambedkar Stadium to Bypass Road via Gautam Nagar, from Second Town Police Station to Godangadda via Women's Degree College, and from Court to Shata Vehicle University Road will be covered in the first phase of the Smart City road works.
A total of 35 km of road has been constructed. Amritsar Swarnadevalayam scenic roads, LED lighting, and a pedestrian and cyclist-only pathway will be built. Tourist attractions are being built on the outskirts.
Suspension bridge construction is already completed and the bridge is ready for use. A DCR has been prepared with Rs 130 crore to develop greenery from Padma Nagar bypass to the NTR statue.
The funds for the Maneru River Front were recently released by CM KCR, and construction is about to begin. A few parks in the city are currently being developed. In certain areas, open gyms are being set up along smart city roads. Minister Kamalakar and Mayor Sunil Rao keep a close eye on the construction.
