Dr. Saha stated that during the foundation stone-laying ceremony for the development and beautification of Shiv Bari Pond on Central Road and the Veterinary Hospital Lake under the AMRUT 2.0 scheme, he announced his intention to advocate for the introduction of the Smart City Mission Project 2.0 to facilitate further development in the state. He mentioned that through the AMRUT 2.0 scheme, three ponds in Agartala city would be developed and beautified, with 90% of the funds secured from the centre and 10% from the state. He also noted that the ongoing Smart City Mission had already provided around Rs 5 billion to their state, leading to numerous developments, and he planned to discuss with their leaders in Delhi the initiation of Smart City 2.0, akin to AMRUT 2.0, to ensure continued development. He added that visitors from outside Tripura had been impressed by the state's progress.
"Tripura has seen significant improvements in law and order and overall development," Dr. Saha said. He emphasised that Prime Minister Modi's focus on development drove their ongoing projects. He also stressed the importance of taking responsibility for maintaining and beautifying their lakes and ponds, noting that flooding often led to criticism due to large amounts of garbage, bottles, and debris causing issues. He called on everyone to maintain cleanliness, highlighting that previously, there had been no significant effort in maintaining these water bodies. He reiterated their goal to focus on development without politicising it and highlighted the memorable impact of PM Modi's development work on the people.
