Amazon India now has above 60 fulfilment centres and over 25 specialised sites dedicated to Amazon Fresh selection for grocery and daily essentials over India.

The new fulfilment centres and increase of nine existing ones over Bihar, Maharashtra, Delhi, West Bengal, Rajasthan, Assam, Gujarat, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and Karnataka, is designed to deliver a smarter, quicker and more steady experience for its customers and sellers.

Few of these new fulfilment centres will be operational ahead of Prime Day 2021 in July end.

The expansion is also in line with the forthcoming festive season which adds to a large number of e-commerce sales in India. Amazon India said all its new fulfilment centres would be operational before the festival season sales.

It will also offer a fillip to the ancillary businesses in logistics, packaging, and transportation, amongst others, while producing essential work opportunities over the country.
