Geodis takes 3 mn sq ft warehouse facility from LOGOS on lease

LOGOS Logistics Estate in Luhari, Haryana, leased 300,000 sq ft of warehousing space for a 10-year lease term to address the surging demand from its clients in the e-commerce and retail sector.

The logistics developer and operator LOGOS is developing the 3 million sq ft warehousing space.

Geodis told the media that the transformation to online shopping and omnichannel platforms, stimulated by the pandemic, has forced retailers to explore logistics firms who can render the sheer capacity to handle large merchandise inventory, along with the required tools to guarantee both real-time and end-to-end visibility.

The LOGOS warehouse space is located within close vicinity to other large industrial clusters, comprising Bawal, Bhiwadi, and Dharuhera, and the central business districts of Gurugram and Delhi, the International Airport and National Highway 48.

Geodis said its clients can look forward to faster and more secure delivery options when the built-to-suit (BTS) plant officially opens in March 2022.

Lakshmanan Venkateswaran, sub-regional managing director, South Asia, Geodis, told the media that the new facility in the LOGOS Luhari Logistics Estate ushers in a new era for Geodis鈥 contract logistics capabilities and reinforces the company鈥檚 commitment to being a strategic growth partner for our retail and e-commerce clients.

CEO of LOGOS鈥 India business, Mehul Shah, told the media that it is their first partnership with Geodis. LOGOS is committed to building a new benchmark of high quality and sustainable logistics warehousing in India to support the critical infrastructure services required, and the work with Geodis is the next step in accomplishing this. They look forward to assisting Geodis鈥檚 real estate requirements throughout India and Asia.

In September, LOGOS told the media that it has leased a million sq ft of space in its new warehouse space to e-commerce major Amazon India, at the former鈥檚 Devanahalli Industrial and Logistics Park in north Bengaluru in one of the largest warehouse lease transactions in the nation. The 20 year long lease tenure amounts to a rental outflow of more than $100 million.

The Luhari Estate will include sustainability and environmental initiatives covering 20 acres of Miyawaki Forest Plantation, solar power production and distribution for warehouse and common infrastructure energy provision.
