CM Gehlot demands national project status for East Rajasthan Canal

Ashok Gehlot, the chief minister of Rajasthan, reemphasized on Saturday his desire that the state's ambitious East Rajasthan Canal Project (ERCP) be given national project status, I In the northern zonal council meeting on Saturday, which was presided over by Union ÑDz©ÌåÓý¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³ Minister Amit Shah, the Chief Minister brought up the subject.

Additionally, he urged that positions be created in the Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) for members from Rajasthan. The ERCP is an ambitious project worth Rs 372.47 billion and it will help 13 districts in the state, including Jhalawar, Baran, Kota, Bundi, Sawai Madhopur, Ajmer, Tonk, Jaipur, Dausa, Karauli, Alwar, Bharatpur, and Dholpur. He argued that state governments should have more authority over cooperative societies. The Banning of Unregulated Deposit Schemes Act, 2019, should have more strict requirements in order to protect investors.
