Govt to Launch 'Jal Shakti Abhiyan: Catch the Rain - 2025' on World Water Day

The Ministry of Jal Shakti, in partnership with the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change and the Government of Haryana, is set to launch 鈥楯al Shakti Abhiyan: Catch the Rain - 2025鈥� on 22nd March 2025 (World Water Day) in Panchkula, Haryana. The initiative promotes water conservation, rainwater harvesting, and sustainable resource management through community participation and scientific interventions.
Key Focus Areas
Theme: 鈥溹啶� 啶膏啶氞く 啶溹え 啶ぞ啶椸啶︵ぞ啶班: 啶溹え 啶溹ぞ啶椸ぐ啷傕啶むぞ 啶曕 啶撪ぐ鈥� (People鈥檚 Action for Water Conservation 鈥� Towards Intensified Community Connect).
Target: 148 districts across India, fostering collaboration among government agencies, communities, and key stakeholders.
Objectives:
Rainwater harvesting & groundwater recharge
Water security amid climate change challenges
Strengthening the ecological bond between water, forests & people

Exhibition showcasing artistic expressions on water conservation
Launch of 鈥楯al-Jangal-Jan: Ek Prakritik Bandhan Abhiyan鈥� (Water-Forest-People: The Intrinsic Bond), linking rivers, springs & forests
E-launch of 'Mukhyamantri Jal Sanchay Yojana' & Haryana Water Resources Atlas for scientific water management
Awards Ceremony recognising progressive farmers, women, industries & NGOs for water conservation efforts
Unveiling of innovative projects, including:
Community Sanitary Complexes
Liquid Waste Management Systems
Gobardhan Project (Biogas & Organic Waste Management)
Solid Waste Management Shed
