Property ID Issues Dominate Resolutions at Gurugram Civic Camps

Property ID-related grievances were the primary concern at the Samadhan Shivirs (resolution camps).

According to MCG data, from October 22 to December 30 this year, residents submitted around 1,094 complaints, with 26.7 per cent related to property ID issues and 19.4 per cent concerning sewerage problems.

The corporation successfully resolved over 81 per cent of the property ID-related complaints, while the resolution rate for sewerage issues remained low at 35.8 per cent.

Following the conclusion of the assembly elections, Haryana's Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini had announced the formation of these camps at municipal corporation offices across the state in October, with the goal of addressing local issues. The camps were aimed at resolving civic matters at the community level in anticipation of municipal elections in various Haryana municipalities.

In Gurgaon, where local body elections have been overdue for over two years, property IDs play a crucial role in several functions such as online property tax payments, maintaining state records of registered properties, and executing sale deeds. They are also essential for distributing water bills. Any discrepancies in these records disrupt all associated services, including pending property registries, which cannot proceed without the completion of tax payments and the attachment of a no-objection certificate.

During a camp, MCG Commissioner Ashok Kumar Garg assured that swift resolution of complaints, particularly related to sewer overflow and blockages within the municipal area, would be prioritised. He directed that all engineers focus on addressing complaints within their respective areas.
