The GHMC's Environment, Vigilance and Disaster Management (EV & DM) division on Saturday cautioned private carriers, builders, and people of severe fines for dumping and transporting construction waste illegally through the city. With assistance from the police department, the GHMC's central enforcement cell (CEC) will impose sanctions for such offenses. The municipal administration and urban development (MAUD) department released a government order (GO) about the situation. According to officials, those who commit the offense for the first time will be required to pay a fine of $25,000. The price will be increased to 50,000 for a second offense. A 1 lakh fine and the seizure of the used vehicle will apply for the third offense. The offender would also be fined an additional 50,000 for disposing of the material illegally. Four private organizations were chosen by the civic council to handle the proper disposal of building trash.
